Starting and Advanced Training
|
We don't believe in any one training "style" with horses that we are starting or taking on to advance training. Every
horse, and
rider for that matter, are different. Each one with a unique set
of needs. We do believe a soft hand and a
gentle voice will accomplish more with the horse than what some people term "cowboying" the horse. Each horse
that we take in to start or advance train is evaluated for the first three days to determine thier temperment and level
of knowledge. We then take that evaluation into consideration on the steps we need to take in starting or training
each horse. Before taking on a horse, we will visit with the owner to establish exactly what the owner expects to be
accomplished during training and outline those needs. After the first two weeks of training with us, we will then
re-evaluate the expectations of the owner and meet with them to discuss whether we think the horse is capable of
meeting thier expectations. |

This is our little
stud colt pony, Rebel. This was his first ride at 2 years old with our
son Nathaniel. Rebel is a Hancock bred stud colt and at 2 years old is the
sweetest and most kind stud we have ever owned. |
